Can I renew books online?

Answer

Yes. In fact, in the case of an I-Share item, it is the only way you can renew them. Books can be renewed 3 times. Other items from the DACC Library cannot be renewed. Items that cannot be renewed must be returned and must stay on the shelf for 24 hours before they can be checked out again.

To renew items online:

  • Go to EasySearch.
  • Sign in to your account.
  • Click Menu to view your information.

  • Click on My Loans.
  • Your checked out items will appear in a list with RENEW next to them.
  • Click the RENEW link next to the ones you wish to renew. The new due date will be posted. If an item cannot be renewed, the system will tell you. 

If items belong to other libraries in the system, click on the All Institutions drop down and click Has Activity to see all books you have checked out from other libraries. Click on renew as above.

      

 

You can also call the library's circulation desk (217-443-8733) and we can renew books checked out from the DACC Library over the phone for you.

Depending upon the nature of the item and the status of your account, you may not be allowed to renew online. 

You can call the DACC library's circulation manager to try and resolve these problems at 217-443-8733, although you will need to contact other owning libraries' circulation departments about their books. Find links to all I-Share Libraries here.
