Can I use downloaded eBooks and audiobooks on multiple devices?
Answer
If you download an ebook or audiobook from Libby, you can use it across all of your devices and computers.
Download the Libby App to any device you want to use. Then simply login to your account on the device and you'll see all of your checked out items.
If you want to read it on a computer, simply follow the links to go to the Libby collection from the DACC Library page.
EBSCOhost ebooks cannot be used across multiple devices. This is because EBSCO recommends different filetypes for computers and mobile devices. These are not interchangeable. Also checkouts are linked to the device, not your account.
If there are unlimited downloads for a title, however, you can download on multiple devices by searching for it and downloading it again.
Consider whether you want to use it on a computer or laptop, probably more convenient when working on a project, or use the EBSCO mobile app on a device for more convenient reading. Downloading does require the free Adobe Digital Editions program and an Adobe Digital ID.
Remember, you can skim around in an EBSCO ebook on a computer without downloading, and that may be the most convenient of all.
