Why aren't my links to an article in a library database not working?

Answer

Your link is probably one that you copied from the browser address bar. In some databases and on some web sites this is fine and will work if you want to return to the source. In others, it won't. In those cases, the browser links are constructed as part of the search process and are only temporary in nature.

When you find a source you want to use, whether from a database or a web page, you need to look carefully for a link or button that says something like "Get Link" or "Permanent Link" or "Permalink".

If you find one, then click this to copy a reusable link to item.

When you have a link that doesn't work, you will need to find the original again. Contact the library through Chat or email and we will be glad to help you find your original again!
