EIU or Lincoln Christian Students Placing I-Share Requests

I am trying to request a book through the I-Share Catalog and when I create my I-Share account it says I need to enter my library account information, however I do not have a library account. I am an off campus student completing online classes and was hoping I would just need to come to campus to pick up the book when it was available. If I can create a library account over email I would like to do that, or if I need to come to campus I would like to know asap. Thanks for the help!

Answer

Because you are a student of from another college, you need to use your own college to place I-Share requests. You can, however, arrange to have them sent to DACC for pick-up.

For example, as an EIU student you would go to EIU's library web site, search through the catalog on their page to locate the item you want (even if it is a DACC title), and then click request first available and proceed from there. As an EIU student you should have all the information you need on your Panther Card.

If you have further questions, you can contact Eastern's library at  217-581-6072  or using their  Contact a Librarian link. http://www.library.eiu.edu/requests/asklibr.html

Lincoln Christian students, consult these two guides: http://libguides.lincolnchristian.edu/ld.php?content_id=41606000 and https://libguides.lincolnchristian.edu/catalog/request If you need further information, call the library at: (217) 732-3168 ext. 2203
